Country Roads Feature
NOLA Contemporary Ballet is featured in the September edition of Country Roads Magazine. This special Performing Arts edition highlights five top dance organizations in Louisiana and the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the local arts community.
2021 Inaugural Season Announcement
Experience the history and beauty of Louisiana, and the rhythmic heartbeat of the city of New Orleans.
Join us in celebrating our first season.
Kicking off the inaugural season is Premiere, a mixed rep show featuring world premieres and excerpts from an array of dance works in NOLA Contemporary Ballet’s repertory. NOLA-bred and inspired artists lead Louisiana-flavored, creative collaborations as the extraordinary NOLA CB dancers evoke the spirit of Louisiana in this first program of the season.
Featuring artistic director, Tianna Pourciau Sykes’ Ghosts of the Past and Suite Orleans, the world premiere of Requiem, as well as a sneak peek of the full-length production, Native Swamp featuring NOLA Contemporary Ballet’s Youth Apprentice ensemble.
Auditions
It’s our inaugural performance season, and we are looking for technically strong and artistically versatile female and male dancers.
NOLA Contemporary Ballet is currently accepting video submissions for our 2020-2021 virtual auditions.
Submission should include:
“2020-2021 Auditions” in the subject line of the email
Resume/CV, Headshot, and Video link (YouTube, Vimeo)
Video requirements:
Three to four minutes in length maximum
Ballet technique section (short barre or center)
Short modern, contemporary or jazz technique section
Short performance in the style of your choice
Personal presentation: With camera zoomed in to just the face and chest showing, introduce yourself, talk a little about yourself including your interests and goals in the short and long term
All applicants will be notified via email with audition results and/or call back information.
