The Nutcracker. Written, directed and choreographed by artistic director, Tianna Pourciau Sykes, this old tale is brought to life with a modern twist, taking us into the holiday season with Clara as she embarks on a magical, musical journey to other lands.

Join us in celebrating our first season and experience the history and beauty of Louisiana through the powerful vehicle of dance!
Kicking off the season is a mixed rep show featuring world premieres and excerpts from an array of dance works in NOLA Contemporary Ballet’s repertory. NOLA-bred and inspired artists lead Louisiana-flavored, creative collaborations and the extraordinary NOLA CB dancers evoke the spirit of Louisiana in this first program of the season. Featuring dance works Ghosts of the Past, Suite Orleans, Requiem and a sneak peek excerpt from the upcoming production, Native Swamp.
This comeback season is a celebration of our formation. NOLA Contemporary Ballet is the first and only contemporary ballet company dedicated to performing works that tell the stories of the rich and diverse history of Louisiana. The company boasts a diverse repertoire, with a movement aesthetic that fuses classical ballet and modern contemporary dance. Join us this season as we present works that embody and preserve the unique beauty and culture of Louisiana...original works and re-staged classics.
